Double Presentation By REGATTA COMMITTEE
Not Only are members of the Carriacou Regatta Committee into preparation for the 41st anniversary of the Carriacou Regatta festival but they are also playing a much appreciative role by recognizing individuals and institutions that have made a contribution an invaluable contribution to the community.
On Wednesday April 5th members of the committee headed by Dexter Leggard presented a $300.00 food hamper to 85 year old retired nurse Ivy McLeod of Beausejour.
The members then traveled to the Princess Royal Hospital where a beautiful bouquet of flowers was handed over to the staff at the institution.
Nurse Mcleod, who retired in the early 1980’s express much appreciation for such kind and thoughtful gesture by the committee.
Nurse Agnes Olliverre, who accepted the gift on the nurses behalf said this means quite a lot to everyone at the institution.
Leggard, flanked by his members told Nurse McLeod that she provided yeomen service in helping to shape the profession and therefore must be recognized at this time which is nurse’s week.
He told the member of at the institution that is in appreciation for the commendable work they are doing at this time.
